Jack The Ripper - The City of
London has played host to many a killing - from
brutal murders by Sweeney Todd to the awesome
slayings of Jack the Ripper, who in 1888 brought
terror and panic to the streets of London's East
End. His identity was kept a closely guarded secret
by a police force anxious to hide the truth from
the public.
The Murderous Mile - We shall
also explore the murky shadows of London's hidden
courtyards and gas-lit alleyways. You will hear
of the ghosts of the Man in Grey and 'Scratching
Fanny' but more vivid will be the evocative images
you will receive of the fear and distress of the
occupants of London's twilight world in the late
19th century.
East-End Pub - For the benefit
of the faint-hearted, we will call at some typical
pubs including the Ten Bells, the original pub
from where Jack used to follow the victims. For
those requiring Supper, there will be an opportunity
to try some real pub grub!!
This tour ends approximately 22.30. This tour
is not suitable for Children.
